The paintings are in oil on canvas; during a relatively slow process of creation several layers of colour are painted on top of each other.

Within these variable layers vibrations in the effect of the colour provide a depth that would be hardly possible with merely one single layer of paint. Colour and content lose their material character and are transformed into a nearly abstract visual perception.

 

 

Since 1982 oilpainting is the mainpart of my work. I started with first trials in a surreal style. Under influence of Morandi and Giacometti I developped a painting, that is obliged to the expression of the individual in its environs. I call it painting of the quiet disqiet. Even if it is possible to identify some contents of the paintings as objects, they all are fictional. They are not an image of a real occasion, but pure picture, that follows its own effect only.

 

iDie Bilder sind in Öl auf Leinwand oder Baumwolle ausgeführt. Sie entstehen relativ langsam durch das Uebereinanderlagern von Schichten aus Pinselstrichen.

Durch Farbvariation in den einzelnen Schichten kommt es zu Vibrationen in der Farbwirkung und daher zu einer Farbtiefe, die mit einem einzelnen Aufstrich kaum zu erreichen ist. Farbe und Inhalt verlieren ihren materiellen Charakter und wandeln sich in eine fast abstrakte visuelle Wahrnehmung.
